Bianca is delighted to have curated an edited collection of photographs taken from the latest print edition. The photographers selected for the showcase include Heather Agyepong, Hilina Abebe, Lyra Aoko, and Jessica Sarkodie. Bianca highlights the vibrant and vivacious range of images, such as Imams going to Saras within the Sierra Leonean community visualized in striking monochromatic tones by Adama Jalloh; Danish-born Somali photographer Amaal Said who presents Muslim women against resplendent backgrounds of fuchsia, rich reds, and deep purples; Ghanaian-British photographer Heather Agyepong who explores Lady Sarah Forbes Bonetta, a West African adopted goddaughter of Queen Victoria who came to live in England at a young age; Ethiopian self-taught documentary photographer Hilina Abebe as she captures the life of a young woman who earns a living from shining shoes to take care of her daughter, among many others.
Through an assortment of styles and colour palettes, an incredible range of stories and perspectives are wonderfully illustrated and deserve to be shared in a physical space.
The exhibition continues until April 29th, 2018.
