About the Job:
This role serves as an integral member of the management team. The Finance and Accounting Manager will be responsible for the development of Nubuke’s financial management strategy and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic goals. Build and manage effective and streamlined financial systems, including financial, accounting, and physical infrastructure. Implementing efficient financial procedures and policies for the business vision to be achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
▪ The role will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting process across the operation, including month and year-end close.
▪ Advise the leadership and other key members of senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
▪ Serve as the management liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
▪ Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and facilities teams.
▪ Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
▪ Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process.
▪ Provide analytical support to the management team, including the development of internal management reporting capabilities.
▪ Improve operational accounting services such as treasury management, grants payment processing, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.
▪ To ensure consistent, accurate, and robust financial accounting processes in line with accounting practices and corporate policies.
▪ Review and monitor all accounting transactions and payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting rules, relevant laws, and government policies.
▪ Ensure that local external accounting requirements are adhered to. This may include managing local providers such as tax accountants or auditors.
▪ Business Accounts and management of Banking relationships.
▪ Capital assets additions, disposals, and depreciation.
▪ Manage the organisation’s physical infrastructure, facilities, and system maintenance.
