Artist Biography
Eric Asamoah (born 1999) is a Ghanaian-Austrian photographer whose artistic practice is deeply influenced by contemporary Black thought. His work explores the nuances of being young, Black, and connected to diasporic visual cultures, capturing the complexity of these identities. His photography has been showcased internationally, with solo exhibitions at the Francisco Carolinum Museum in Linz and the Nubuke Foundation in Accra, Ghana. In addition to exhibiting, his projects have been published by esteemed publishers such as Verlag für Moderne Kunst, Hatje Cantz, and Distanz Verlag, earning him several awards including Austria’s Most Beautiful Books. His work has also garnered attention from prominent fashion and cultural outlets like VOGUE, and he has collaborated with brands such as CHANEL and Grace Wales Bonner.
