Tei Huagie is living proof of an individual who lives and breathes art. Visiting his studio is a sensory experience—everything around him, including rubbish and discarded objects, is infused with his creative spirit. This same transformative energy will be brought to the Nubuke Foundation during the six weeks his works will be on display.
Tei is a painter, sculptor, furniture designer, and fashion designer. His recent works feature assemblages crafted from discarded rubber slippers—Chale Wote—and paintings constructed with geometric shapes. These invite visitors to look beyond the pixels of color to discover hidden figurative forms and landscapes.
Tei’s works have been exhibited in galleries worldwide.
The opening will also mark the launch of Nubuke Foundation’s new multi-purpose gallery, which will serve as a home to the new gift shop where Tei’s works will be showcased.
