About the job:

This role serves as an integral member of the Curatorial team.

The Project assistant will be responsible for the design and delivery of programs that align with Nubuke’s mission and support the organisation’s goals. Will be responsible for quality control and program evaluation. Assist in developing, curating, and managing all exhibitions and projects. Shape the framework of projects, and mediate between the artist and the institution, as well as the objects and the audience.

This role holder will need to be a proactive, hands-on individual with a track record of working closely with artists to deliver innovative and inspirational programmes, which engage diverse audiences. The role holder must have a communication flair which complements the ethos of the Nubuke Foundation - effective, simple, open, and accessible.


Responsibilities:

Make a lively contribution to Nubuke Foundation’s programme of activities and events, by researching the existing ecosystem, looking at trends and suggestions that are relevant to the artistic community and patrons, and ensuring Nubuke Foundation by devising programmes and concepts that will support the artistic practice and development of the creative community.

Maintain a good relationship with networks and suggest new ones that will be beneficial to the Nubuke Foundation’s work and those of our stakeholders.

Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.

Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.

Manage interns, apprentices, and volunteers in the coordination of specific commissions, projects and exhibitions.

Write literature on exhibitions and projects.

Assist in writing bids for proposals.

Assist with installation including – packing, loading and mounting of exhibits.


Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.

Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in project coordination.

Strong organisational and management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Overseeing projects from start to finish.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in the arts industry will be an advantage.
